Happy Friday! I know it has been a while since I have posted. Feb./early March I think are the busiest time of the year for me (even more so than Christmas). Between our school auction, report cards and a zillion other school stuff, I can feel a bit overwhelmed. I completed my report cards last night and today I was able to make a birthday card for a friend. I bought some goodies from Papertrey Ink a few weeks ago and I finally broke them out today.

Ahhh, the sweet sound of nothing all day. Today has been my second personal day and it has been great (See previous post about this). I worked out, got a haircut, and made a trip up to a cute scrapbooking store in Paradise (yes, there is a town called that about 15 minutes away). Don't get me wrong, I love my son but he is 2-1/2 and that should explain it all right there. One of thie things I did today was put together my Valentine goody bags for my husband and son. Here is what they looked like:
It was super easy, just punched out hearts and made a tag. The patterned paper and stamps are from Papertrey's Simple Valentine collection. I hope you are having a great day. These are the Valentine's I made for my little first graders. They are a CAS from Heather Nichols, I just lover her stuff. Mine aren't quite as detailed as hers, but it gave me a chance to use my new Papertrey stuff. My plan is to wrap the card around a sucker. I think it will work well as a sucker topper. I will feed my little first graders the candy and then send them off for a four day weekend, hee hee.
I am counting down the days until a four day weekend AND my next personal day. I'm not sure what will be on my scrapbooking agends, but I am planning on getting a haircut and a good workout in. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to you. Who are you rooting for? My favorite football team is the Raiders and they've been out of the running for years, so I just pick a team who I either like some of the players, the coach or the city there are from. This year is hard because I had a blast in New Orleans when I visited years ago, so I like the Saints. BUT, I also like Peyton Manning, so I think I will decide who to cheer for when I get to the party.
I've been gone a couple of weeks from the blogging world. This past week has been tough because we switched out toddler to a big boy bed, and the transition has not been easy. We are making prgress. I wanted to share a layout I made last weekend. It is from a trip to Cambria/San Luis Obispo. My husband and I used to live in SLO and my sister-in-law still lives there. We are fortunate to visit every year. I is a beautiful place.

um...4-1/2 years now. The big picture is a picture of our marriage license two days before our wedding. I came home from work and found it chewed up on the floor. I had to drive back to the county office (30 minutes away) to get a new one re-issued. The people there were great. They laughed just as hard as I did, they had never heard that one before. My husband and I came into our relationship with our own dogs, so to this day we argue over whose dog chewed it up. I guess it really doesn't matter, it makes for a great story. Happy Sunday everyone! It is another rainy blah day here in northern California. I guess that it's okay since it is a footbal playoff day. Today I decided to play with my Button Bits stamp set. Have I told you that I love buttons! I was so excited to get this set. There are so many fun things to do with it. It looks like I stamped the words crooked, oh well. The other exciting thing I did today, besides play with my new stamp set it organize. I cleaned off my scrapbooking desk so I could actually see the wood, woohoo. Happy Thursday everyone. We survived a couple of days of fierce winds and lots of wind. No damage here this year, but driving around our town there are fallen limbs and power outages everywhere. We were fortunate to have power, so I digscrapped my first page last night. I decided to try this project 12 on 12. It is where you take 12 pictures on the 12th of each month for a year. It sounded kind of fun, but I find it so hard to fit scrapbooking in, that I thought I would try to digiscrap it. Don't even ask what products I ised, I just downloaded a bunch of free digi stuff from Two Peas and designer Digitals. I did find a template, which made this super easy. I found it on this blog. My plan is to use the same template each month, just change the background up. We'll see how it goes. I still love paper scrapbooking, but want to check digscrapping out a bit.
Sunday I shared a notebook I made that will organize 12 personal days for me this year. Yesterday was my first day and it was great. My husband and I had the day off for Martin Luther King Jr. day, but we sent our son to daycare. I organized my scrap deks in the morning. Then we went to the first matinee showing of the Blind Side, great movie. We went out to lunch at a new restaraunt in town. Last we came home to a couple of hours od peace and quiet in our house, which meant scrapbooking for me.
I have two mini-albums that needed updating, so I finished those which feels great. They are both 8 x 8 albums, so they don't take too long. I have a Halloween album and a birthday album. The Halloween album I make a two-page layout each year of what my son dressed as. Here is my 2008 page I completed using the Cosmo Cricket Halloween paper.
I will have to post more pics later. I have to head out to work. It's going to be a long week with rain/wind everyday. Which means rainy day recesses. Have a great day!
